Michael Attea's profile

Notre Dame Football Changes 2018

An analyst for multiple organizations, including the Sermo social media platform for physicians and the hospitality cloud marketing company Cendyn, Michael Attea attended the University of Notre Dame as well as the University of Alabama. As an alumnus of both schools, Michael Attea is an avid fan of their sports programs.

The University of Notre Dame football team intends to make significant changes to its offensive approach for the 2018 season. While the 2017 team had a strong offensive line, it played a one-dimensional game focused almost entirely on the strength of its ability to rush. The 2018 team, however, seeks to improve the squad's flexibility with members who can run, catch, and block in equal measure.

Its potential receivers, Miles Boykins and Chase Claypool, have significant advantages of size and stature over their typical cornerback counterparts. The team's quarterback, Brandon Wimbush, has committed significant effort to his footwork and passing abilities as well.

The net result of all these changes is a Notre Dame team with a slightly weaker rushing game, but a much more unpredictable overall offense. Opposing teams should have difficulty guessing what the team is really planning, leading to weakened counter-play and an overall stronger team.
