Why does the chosen work represent the best outcome of the options you could have developed?
The style of Illustration was something that suited my own personal efforts when it comes to sketching and drawing. The options demonstrated attention to detail and have effortless techniques. I favour anything that can be simple but adding minimal touches can be really effective.
How does your work compare with professional work you researched?
I wanted to focus on a style that represented me as a character. The style is timid, it does not go out of its comfort zone and is a chic yet minimal approach that defines the overall design and trend focus.
What were the technical constraints and difficulties you encountered?
Manually, hand drawing is not my favourite topic, using Pro markers and pencils to sketch is an area I'm not fairly confident with, yet. Features is a big struggle and this counts for shoes/feet, hands and faces. I don't have a rhythmn when it comes to this however as I said I do like finer details, I do not like doing this myself as it is fiddly, a bit contradicting, eh?!
How could you have improved the process or outcome?
Maybe with a bit more practice with the manual drawing techniques I would be able to develop on my design style as an illustrator and show more initiative in the features. I'm fortunate to have the skills to use Adobe Photoshop Illustrator as these are areas I've devoted plenty of practice in!!!
