This project is an internship submission I completed early 2018. I had to chose any product on amazon and create an mock-advert for it. I chose a hiking boot and aimed to show off the boot in an environment that represents adventure.

As you can see from the finished ad and the full illustration, I had to sacrifice a lot but I like how it's cropped.
Usually my initial sketches are just simple thumbnail line drawings. I don't add a lot of detail because I only use this stage to map out where things go.
I only care about detail and colours and everything else at the digital stage. Super basic outline drawings make it easy to make continuous changes and it helps not get attached to something if I put lots of effort into. Not much to show here really because most of them are so simple they don't make sense...
A few months ago, while visiting Berlin, this shot was taken of me and seeing as I needed a person in this project I thought it would be cool to feature myself...
Drawing people isn't easy and I always tend to avoid adding people for this reason. More practice needed. For this project a character was definitely needed. Must try with more detail in future projects.
