Flat Drawings for Pull & Bear A/W 19/20
Below are the flat drawing that I created on Adobe Illustrator for A/W 19/20, they will be put into specification sheets that will include the sizes, measurements and fabrics.
Whilst executing my design research via WGSN and Pinterest, I found that many of the current menswear trends included baggy clothes, thick fabric and gave off a very laid back attitude. So I decided to embody this with this first flat drawing look, I think that it would appeal to Pull & Bear and their target audience.
Trousers: Linen
Top: Cotton
Belt: Lace
With Autumn/ Winter being the main theme throughout the collection, I felt that it was necessary to include thick swollen fabrics and baggy yet comfy trousers as shown in the 2 look above.
Top: Wool
Trousers: Cotton blend
Belt: Cotton
I wanted this collection to exude a casual, laid back vibe but also wanted to add some formal wear in with out making to much of a statement, after all, the theme is 'Urban Thinker', which (to me) fashion wise, means being able to make a simple shirt and trousers look like something from the catwalk.
Top: Linen
Trousers: Linen

Personally I felt that plain, black and white flat drawings weren't really doing anything for me creatively, so I decided on adding colours and different accessories to really get a feel for what I wanted it to actually look like. I feel. that these colours and accessories are current and definitely fit in with the 'Urban Thinker' theme.
1. Fitness for purpose. Why does the chosen work represent the best outcome of the options you could have developed?
The flat drawings are fit for purpose because it consists of all the needed information on the garment which can then be sent to the manufacturer, therefore allowing them to make the garments at a consistent rate.
2.How does your work compare with the professional work you researched?
The professional specification sheet (shown in bibliography) is similar to mine (shown in portfolio) although my own is less advanced.
3.What were the technical constraints and difficulties you encountered?
One of the technical constraints I encountered was making the specification sheets, I found it difficult to come up with precise, accurate measurements.
4.How could you have improved the process or outcome?
I could have improved the outcome by handling my time more wisely, I feel that my overall outcome could have been improved if I had of taken more time to clearly present my specification sheets.
