I used knitted elements to create unique jewelry pieces.
My inspiration and research include hammocks, scarves, and lace. I have created over-sized and voluminous neckpieces that are lightweight. I wanted to use this form to give the wearer a sence of support and calm, like the feeling water gives to me. My pieces have several layers to them that make them intriguing and cause the wearer to want to pick them up and put them on. My goal was to create a statement piece and a more wearable version, both with a knotted structure. The pieces I have created are welcoming and will comfort the wearer.
Process: Knitting, forming, soldering, and sewing
