For my flag I chose Topeka, KS. I chose this because my dad was born there and is from Kansas. for my flag I have the green as the bottom. The green represents the grass lands of Kansas, and its at the bottom because the land is sea level. the flat rectangle shape is flat because of the flat lands of Kansas. For the top I have blue. I have blue because it represents purity. The purity of Kansas would be during the Civil War where Kansas chose to be a free state without slavery. this is significant because they fought people from Missouri who wanted them to become slave states., Hence the two states still have rivalries for sports. the star in the middle represents one of the stars on the United States Flag and it is centered to show that Kansas is in the center of the United States. The star is yellow to show the glowing lights of Kansas City at night.
