Invisible Cities, Visible

INVISIBLE CITIES,VISIBLE
We illustrate the paradox of Ersilia's urban structure, as if we were Calvino's Marco Polo, but instead of words we use building regulations. Building factors, traffic roads and terms like bearing structure, building openings and building withdrawal, function as a user manual for approaching Ersillia. However city refers not to its inhabitants but to its refugees so that Ersilia seems to be a never-ending approaching place, a utopia.
The outcome of this design process are a board game, a game manual and drawings which make visible the invisible Ersilia. The game contains a game board, 15x tokens and 28x cloth sheets.

A student project done at T.U.C. Chania, in collaboration with Kalatzidakis Stratos and Raat Karolos

"Invisible Cities, Visible" has been published in April's issue of ek magazine. Also, the project excibited in several institutions, such as the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens and the Center of Meditterannean Architecture.
