The design of the hotel is inspired from the Saudi Culture. It integrates traditional Islamic features in a contemporary way. The color scheme is simulating the Skakkah deserted environment, coming in golden, white, black, and beige pallet.
The Screen hanged in the Hotel reception is parametrically designed. It transforms gradually from one Islamic star to a different one. The transformation is driven by an algorithmic logic, that associates the transformation of the star to its distance from a virtual point, acting as an attractor point. The nearer to the point the star gets, the more formation it evolves. The visual script was written using grasshopper.
The Screen is made of low weight golden metal sheets in front of glass panels and assembled with cables and anchorages.
