"Walking universes"

The theme that dominates the entire narrative of this short film is solidarity, autism and subjectivity because it features different perspectives about one single situation. I want to how that the so called “average” version of the world that most of us know and experience can be very different for the people we usually judge or make fun of.
To build the main character I took as a reference a cousin of mine that has autism. However. This character is not solemnly based on him. I added my own fertile imagination in constant activity. This fusion resulted on an autist boy that has as obsession for imagining the life of the “walking universes” with whom he crosses paths. This way, I adapted my cousin’s perspective to this new reality that is not exactly his, it ended up being more my own taken to an extreme.
The structure of this film sort of works like a puzzle, in the sense that it is given to us several pieces throughout the movie and it is up to the spectator to make conclusions, to reunite and reorder all of the pieces to create a chronologically correct idea of the main character’s life.
In conclusion, my aim with this movie is to raise awareness for what autism really is e, simultaneously, to show in an unusual and exaggerated way a common reality to all the so called “creative beings”.
