Juan Carlos Benitez's profile

Phi Alpha Delta Founders' Day of Giving

Before taking on his current position as president and chairman of the board at Latte Training Academy, Juan Carlos Benitez built an extensive background in the field of law. Juan Carlos Benitez attended the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law to earn his juris doctor, graduating cum laude and participating in the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity during his time there.

One way in which Phi Alpha Delta continues to transform the legal profession is through scholarships and grants, and the organization has recently begun a Founders' Day of Giving program to enhance its ability to provide these funds. While Founders' Day has always been marked by the donning of gold attire, Phi Alpha Delta wanted to shift the purpose of the day from organizational solidarity to fundraising.

In commemoration of the fraternity's 1902 founding, donors are encouraged to give $19.02 to the Phi Alpha Delta International Foundation on Founders' Day. Chapters raising more than $500 in the weeks leading up to Founders' Day receive recognition from the fraternity, including the naming of a grant or scholarship program and a certificate of recognition. The first Founders' Day of Giving program sought to raise $2,000 in funds, but exceeded this goal by a factor of more than five, ensuring that Founders' Day of Giving will become a staple of the Phi Alpha Delta identity.
