In steam, players can download Left4Dead2 Authoring Tools if they buy the game Left4Dead2. Players can create their own map, make new skins or change the UI of the game, then upload it to steam workshop or website such as l4dmaps.com.

The map Ice Howl is a survival map which is about 4 survivors from Left4Dead2 survive the crashed airline and found themselves stranded in an icy mountain. Players start at in front of supplies such as guns and medkits. As normal survival game players have to survive hordes of zombies and special infected. Snowstorm will happen randomly during the game that will lower the vision of players and increase the difficulty as more zombies will spawn.

Welcome to the moon. This is another survival map where players fight against the zombie on the MOON! Don't need to worry about oxygen, but 1 thing is the gravity is low so players can jump and float in the air. Sounds fun but sometimes this might get yourself killed. Zombies will not be affect by the gravity, so smokers can easily kill you while you are floating.
