FLITEBOARD
Inventor and entrepreneur David Trewern came to Katapult with a clear vision and an amazingly detailed prototype of what has become the Fliteboard. Needing help to turn his idea into a commercial reality, he knew what he wanted to do, but needed help to get there.
Fliteboard is rapidly becoming a market leader in the newest watersport, eFoiling. The board uses a whisper quiet electric motor to propel a surfboard along and above the water at speeds of over 30kmph. The specifically designed foil wing system lifts the board and rider up, allowing a near frictionless ride.
DESIGN
A key part of Fliteboard’s brand strategy is to create a product that is both a delight to use and beautiful to look at. Katapult has worked closely with the broader team to refine materials, finishes and features to a level not seen in this industry.
Given a clear brand aesthetic direction by Fliteboard’s team, Katapult added the 3 dimensional polish to that vision, refining styling, materials, finishes and functionality.
Whether it be the cool UX features like the plug and play mast and battery systems, the innovative sport specific remote or the beautifully sculpted uni-body fuselage, the Fliteboard is a deeply considered design.
The team’s goal was to allow the complexity of the product to ‘get out of the way’ for the user and just allow them to have fun. Hopefully anyone who’s had a ride can vouch for that.
