The assignment was to re-design the image or identity of an existing product. In this case, the Bible. There were two main challenges to this assignment. First, how to modernize an item that has existed for centuries. Second, how to make it appealing to read the bible to the general public and/or to non-religious people.
Before imagining a product or visual identity, I wondered what sort of personality this item could acquire. It was essential to maintain a serious look and be neutral, it’s not about converting people, and be approachable at the same time.

The word Bible is heavy and intimidating for some people. So how to distance itself from a authoritative old or historical institution? To lighten up the subject, the concept is named Biblical Affairs. In other words, let us talk about what is in the Bible rather than the book itself.

Aiming at being approachable and considering the non religious people, it is divided into its main 9 books. That way one can look for a specific book of interest.

Visually it breaks with traditional church imagery, no gothic fonts here. For the logo dividing the name makes reference to the division of the books. However, with this approach one can decide their interests, religious or other non-religious motives.

Finally the magazine format comes from the affairs of the project’s name. That also disconnects the heavy book that usually comes to mind when one thinks about the Bible.
