Practica is an online practice & assessment portal for K-10 students that provides them several interest engaging questions in various interactive formats to encourage learning by doing.

The project started with understanding & realising the target consumers and brand culture in terms of both demographics & psychographics. Considering their problems and aspirations, user flows were made and visual directions were explored by keeping in mind the competitors and the latest design trends.
Taking into account the branding guidelines of practica, visual styles were explored without interfering into the colour palette and typography. Considering school admins, parents and students as prime viewers of the website, a need to strike the balance between illustrations & photographic visuals was identified. Further subtle as well as dramatic animations and transitions were designed to keep the site engaging for all the consumers.
The Design Specs were exported by a plugin called Sketch Measure. Assets were exported in variety of formats considering their usage and file size. Animated illustrations were exported as transparent .webm video files and images in jpg-80 format while gifs were exported for the animated icons. Several JS plugins were found and shared with the developer to achieve the desired results as in the prototype. At last the transition specs were manually shared (duration and timing-function) right from the after effects.
Instead of common collaboration tools like Invision, Changes were made sitting and editing right beside the developer. Scrolling transitions were minimised to achieve a faster and more responsive website.
The Project is still in the delivery phase, where we are still struggling with the perfect execution of the scroll transitions. Currently the website is on the staging server and will be live soon once the scroll effects are fixed.
