The Freedom Machine explores the 1890's aeronautical advancements of Otto Lilienthal hat increased human's ability to move and travel. Eventually, this lead to the expansion of bicycles which allowed woman a new found freedom.
This dress embodies this sense of freedom through using mixed light weight materials such as silks, chiffons and cottons to create a sense of light and movement.
The print evokes the industrialised linear structures of the time, created through layered screen printing techniques.
