Snow Groomers
after every skiing day at about 4 pm, the snow groomers start their engines.
Their Job is it to prepare a perfect slope for the next day.
For these guys this is daily business but for me it was a very unique and fascinating experience. Although they work in a Team, every groomer drives alone on his individual route. They stay connect via radio.
A friend of mine drives a Pistenbully at the Ski Resort Bergbahnen-Brandnertal in Austria. He invited me to join him for two evenings. I´m used to work with big construction machines but this was a totally new and different terrain.
We spend most of the time in the dark, had some nice talks and listened to good music. Taking photographs was a bit of a challenge. It was freezing cold and the snow got very deep next to the slopes. But the pictures were definitely worth the effort.
