This is the weapon that the main character of the japanese animation Sword Art Online uses during the first arc of the show. It's an interesting design that caught my attention and I decided to build it in 3D as an exercise for portfolio reasons.

The project was meant to be an interpretation of the sword as if it was contained in the world of the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim instead of the setting of the show. For this reason, the sword was made more realistic than the cartoon version. It has grind marks, dents, scratches, as if used in countless battles.

After creating the model, I placed the weapon in the game mentioned above using Bethesda's Creation Kit. It is currently available at the Steam Workshop for download.
