Honey Combs

I was inspired by honey and the idea of honeycombs when I started this project. I wanted to design a container for combs that hairdressers, or an average women could use on a daily basis to store combs, hair clips, hair rollers, or hair pins. Normally in a store combs are sold in single flat pouches or cases. I wanted to create a dynamic shape that would be visually appealing. The goal was to have it be expanded and retracted by a drawstring, as well as free stranding when opened, so that it could be used for and extended period of time after purchasing. The lid functions as both a lid to keep the container closed, or as another container to store other hair products, preferably for hair rollers. The bottom container has mini images demonstrating the different functions the container can take on. Inside there is another piece of paper that gives information as to the type of combs and how they are used, this paper can be taken out and used as a new container and it will fit the top lid to form a mini jar.
This is what the container looks like opened. The sting keeps it from expanding out all the way.
