A seven-hour drive from Cape Town, along with 365 liters of water and loads of pasta brought us to the Tankwa Karoo dessert. We went with a group of 11 people of different nationalities, set up a camp and had the best experience at our very first burn!

AfrikaBurn is the spectacular result of the creative expression of participants who gather once a year in the Tankwa Karoo to create a temporary city of art, theme camps, costume, music and performance! It will blow your hair back whichever way you choose to experience it. The more you do, the more fun you’ll have – guaranteed, because it’s a do-ocracy – a place where you’re welcome to start something, make something or do anything (within reason).
