Street Art in Lower Manhattan, October 2016

In 2016 I spent 6 weeks living in New York City going to yoga school.  Not only did I walk away with a certification but with memories I will hold for a lifetime.  I had dreamed of living in NYC since I was a little girl and it was so amazing to fulfill that fantasy.  While wandering the streets of Manhattan I of course, had my camera in tow.  In the next few series of posts, I will take you on a tour of my favorite city in the world.

One of my favorite things to capture in any city is the street art and no place is better to find this than New York City.  While some may see it as just graffiti, I see it as an artistic reflection of the people in an area.  During this time the USA was just one month away from our Presidential election and much of the street art reflected many New Yorker's opinions at that time.  Other pieces, however, represented the beautiful and colorful personalities you can find lurking around every corner.  Enjoy this provocative, colorful peek into the NYC street art culture.
