Hanoko: warao housing

The main goal of the project was to provide a transitional housing for venezuelan refugees in the northern region of Brazil that was at the same time cheap and easy to use. Using traditional techniques of the warao people(a indigenous population of Venezuela) such as connections with wood and tressed straw for roofs and vedations, we could design a transitional housing that respects the constructive traditions of these people at the same time that blends these shelters in the landscape of the northern region of Brazil.
