Description: I was asked to help defining the user flow, IA and UI for the Storages, an integral part of a bigger app.
Problem statement: The user needs a way to at a glance see the status of Storage, Codec and Wrapper Storages. Secondly he/she might want to see more informations of a particular storage or add a new one.
Major concerns:
- This app should adopt a sovereign posture. A sovereign posture is a program that monopolizes the user's attention for long periods of time, and supports more-complex human activities. Monitoring applications fall into this category. With this information in mind I decided to use the accent (secondary) color sparingly.
- Accessibility: we should't rely only on color to convey meanings such as success, active or deleted. With this in mind, the active and deleted have different icons and a tooltip should help to disambiguate any doubts.
