I always loved getting toy cars as presents. Although I was more enthusiastic about the cars that changed colors, I still found all of the cars unique and exciting.

With this package design, I wanted to focus on packaging that would appeal to a younger audience and educate kids about the history of vehicles. I love history, and I wanted kids to learn more about what kind of cars they were collecting. Not only will each package be a little different to emphasize the vehicle’s characteristics, but each package will include information about the vehicle and its history. With the unusual shape of the package and the intense colors, kids will be drawn to these toys and hopefully learn more about the cars they are crashing together.

The backing of the package is made out of cardboard, which makes it easy to open and easy to stock. Along with being eye-catching, the goal of the package was to inform the child about the product. Our market was children ten years and up, and our goal was to tell them about the type of car that was in the package and when it was made. This added history would allow the parents to get more interested in purchasing toys for their children.
