The work below was my outcome for the brief to unite young and old set by LOVE. Creative. My main insight was that the relationship between young and old is often referred to as "the generation war". This got me thinking, if this "war" was real, how would it be resolved? How would the ages be brought together in unity?
Following this insight I decided to research into peace treaties from the first and second world war to gain context and visual knowledge. I knew that I wanted to make a peace treaty but I wanted it to be supported by additional documents to create a sense of realism. To do this I created a series of typographic posters heavily influenced by 1940's/war-time propaganda posters and small scale newspaper headline mock-ups. This additional material helped to secure the context and visual style.
The work was then exhibited in Manchester along-side other students responses.
I wanted the peace treaty to be interactive so that those attending the event could interact with the message of the brief and show their support for uniting the ages.
