Global Adoption of Renewable Energy Sources Rapidly
A former Shell Upstream Americas executive with more than two decades of experience in the energy sector, David Lawrence currently serves as the chairman of Lawrence Energy Group, LLC. Since retiring from Shell, David Lawrence has diversified his footprint in energy advisory services and is an expert in a number of aspects of the industry, including renewables.

The renewable energy market has shown major growth over the past decade. Amid growing concerns about fossil fuel consumption and climate change, more companies are searching for cheaper and more accessible renewable energy sources.

It isn’t just the residential sector that’s a prime market for renewables, though. Recent reports suggest that as many as 100 major world cities are drawing at least 70 percent of their electricity from renewable sources such as hydroelectric power, wind and solar farms, and geothermal infrastructure. This figure represents a 100 percent increase in global renewable energy adoption in just the last three years. As more countries look to gain compliance with the Paris Climate Accord and other global efforts to fight climate change, this number will only continue to grow.
