Project Synopsis:
Is there are a clear distinction between Rajinikanth, the actor, and Rajinkanth, the character? This ambiguous quality makes him the perfect candidate for this experiment, where pitting his various avatars against each other could potentially bring about some form of an interesting development or overall destruction in what makes up a narrative, and if the Image and the Icon can live alongside each other in harmony or discord.
By combining and mashing up footage of his fight scenes from his movies, would the end result be the mother of all epic clashes ever seen? Who will survive? Would the Icon still remain at the end once the dust settles, or will the Image be victorious? Or will the two be intertwined in fusion of hyper-reality which possibly goes far beyond the threshold for what is beyond tolerable levels? This project aims to explore a fusion of hyper-reality via the creation of a super-narrative by combining and splicing up action scenes from Indian movies involving the actor Rajinikanth into one big mashup video.
