HaYan is a home decor brand combining traditional handcrafted techniques and modern mechanized means of production. 
This juxtaposition makes the products unique, customisable, and more functional while giving the artisans a better chance
of livelihood.
The brand HaYan aims at enhancing craftsmen's skills and at breaking barriers between means of production. 
It provides tailor made products and transforms passive customers into conscious users.
The first product of the brand was born through testing and prototyping. His goal was to maximize the potential of each production means. It was very important for the handcrafted parts are easy to fix and remove and easy to ship for the artisan. The product had to be fully functional and modern.
One special feature of handcrafted products is that they carry a story made of traditions and cultural elements of the artisan community. To reflect this, unique punch tools and colour combinations were developed inspired from traditional Kutch embroideries. Different pattern combinations are given to the customer for him to design his product.
Through the website the user can start to design his product by discovering either the stories or the different products of the brand. The product page  suggests different combinations of designs and also gives access to the product editor.
Thanks to the product editor, the user can design his own product by choosing colours for the leather piece, embroidery and patterns combination. While doing so he can see the income of the artisan evolve, as well as the employment impact.
