I was really happy to be one of 47 artists taking part in The Big Hoot 2018, an art trail throughout Auckland, supporting the Child Cancer Foundation. Each artist was given an 1.6m tall owl to paint in a theme and design of their choice.
Inspired by the fact owls are awake while the rest of the world is sleeping and dreaming, my design for Mr Dreamcatcher captures my thoughts on what he sees, and what he knows, gliding silently over our houses, watching us sleep and capturing our dreams.
Mr Dreamcatcher will be at the Auckland Botanic Gardens until the end of May when all the owls get auctioned off.
