is about coping with violence, destruction, loss and crisis. the blindfolds and blank faces represent all the women who endure these issues every day silently and unknown. the majority of women who have experienced violence in their lives do not report the crimes. they live as victims, not seeking help through the traumas of recovery. Through this series I hope to explore the realities of this struggle to cope with the pain alone and the triumph of achieving peace. although this is a dark subject matter I wish to give it a positive light through highlighting the freedom that comes through hope and recovery.

Cold - 30x24 Oils on Canvas
As a person who has experienced different traumas in my life, and watched those struggle with their own, I feel uniquely equipped to deal with this difficult subject. My art has helped me rise above many of my issues and assist in dealing with the trauma of my chronic pain disability. I have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a direct result of teenage abuse and the car accident that created my injuries. This series is, in a way, autobiographical - charting my struggles and triumphs through my own issues - while still being a familiar story for all too many women and, hopefully, an inspiration as well. There are many different types of trauma and many different ways to rise above adversity. I wish to celebrate overcoming adversity while raising awareness for violence towards women and encouraging more victims to come forward.

Falling 36x24 Oils on Canvas
I like to explore the relationship women have with their bodies, the beauty of the female form and the emotion evident in each gesture are sources of endless inspiration for me.

I specialize in nude artworks and life drawing, with a twist... no live models are used in the creation of my artwork.

Using 3D modeling, I morph, texture and pose my figures then light them, creating realistic renders that I use as a reference in my paintings and drawings.

The process of artistic conception is the same, I start out with a rough sketch, then shape my model to look exactly as I see in my mind's eye. By using 3D modeling, I am able to have complete control over the model's look, complex lighting and angles that wouldn't be available in a conventional studio. I often spend hours getting the angle on a light exactly right to ensure a shadow falls in exactly the right way. I can capture motion, fleeting instants in time and even take morphology further, into unrealistic proportions and impossible angles or positions.

Reflection 24x36 Oils on Canvas
This exhibition will be a series of oil paintings presented on extra wide stretchers. I would like to work with local women's associations for violence and protection to help raise awareness for these issues and to try to encourage more women to speak out. I would also like to donate a portion of the proceeds of any sales.
