Asked to illustrate a song we either loved or found interesting, I chose ‘Lullaby’ from The Cure. This song is so beautiful, and has been studied in so much detail within the community that I wanted to create a story inspired by it’s lyrics. I made a part pop-up part shadow box series of illustrations with this in mind.
The story is as follows in my book: A woman is desperately trying to forget her ex, lying awake at night. However, her ex just happens to be a mutant spider-person. It would play on the mythos of vampires and werewolves, and being bitten or chosen by a spider-person could either
lead to your death or your doom! I also adapted this into a comic format for the amazing Comic Lab’s anthology, Specimen, as well as a
foldable poster.
