2018 PSAid Contest Animation
Cash Is Best Animation
This animation was my entry for the 2018 PSAid Contest. The goal of the contest is to design a piece that explains why cash is the best to donate to help people affected by natural disasters instead of donating physical items. I made an animation that showed different things your cash could be turned into and explained how donated money is flexible and immediate. This animation won first place in the Broadcast category of the contest. This project also received a 2018 Design Excellence Award from ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
I used Adobe Illustrator to turn my sketches into vector assets for the animation. I animated using Adobe After Effects. I wrote the the voice over, read by Anna Flores, and I recorded her voice and edited the sounds in Adobe Audition. I was challenged to teach myself Audition because I had never used it before this project. It was very helpful in bringing all of the sounds together for the final result. I also had to be mindful of imagery I used for this project because I was meant to represent the need of people around the world and not specifically one culture.
