The holder of two bachelor's degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU), one in family psychology and the other in anatomy and physiology, Lori Manning is now pursuing an MBA at Western Governors University. A softball player at OBU, Lori Manning later served the team as a coach. She was also the head coach of the North Greenville University (NGU) softball team for two seasons.

Eighteen games into the 2018 season, NGU boasts a win-loss record of 12-6, while a pair of the team's players recently earned individual accolades. For the week ending February 25, NGU pitcher Amanda Coffrin was named the Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week.

That week, the senior from Mauldin, South Carolina, allowed only three hits in two shutout victories against Newberry and Tusculum. She also had 12 strikeouts. This is the second time she has earned the Pitcher of the Week honor.

The following week, Jaelin Griffin became the third NGU batter to win the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, joining Taylor Koon and Kate Lee, who won the award in week two and three, respectively. Griffin wrapped up week five with eight hits, including five doubles and a home run. She also had eight runs batted in and an impressive .615 batting average.
