Through the cartographic world emerge a multitude of interesting elements, such survey tools, mensuration signs and symbols and the level staff (Stadia in Italian). A level staff is a sort of ruler used in surveying to measure several meters length. Usually it is marked with a geometrical sign scale which use extremely narrow numbers.
Stadia, a conceptually driven display typeface was designed for an edition of the Swiss radio festival Gwenstival in 2017. The theme of the edition was (radiophonic) maps, as the Radiogwen web-radio was allowed to go on FM for a couple of weeks. The typeface was therefore inspired by the idea of maps and such tools for measuring.
