Via Sauvagia is a veritable sanctuary for nature lovers. This mountainside residential development in the Laurentian region features single-family homes, townhouses and condos built on vast wooded lots. The architectural design combines contemporary luxury and organic materials in perfect synchronicity with the surrounding wilderness. Finishings are raw and tactile—bark and rocks are an integral part of the design. Large windows line pure white walls, letting in light and nature’s ever-changing artworks. Flat roofs support vegetation, landscaping is left to nature’s gardener and lighting has been minimized to allow the stars to shine through. Everything here has been thought out and designed with a
mind to living in harmony with all that nature has to offer.
We created pieces that would inspire people who are inspired by nature.
The pieces reflect the project’s unique rapport with nature—incorporating elements of the project’s natural surroundings in their raw, unadulterated state, sending a message of respect and preservation, central to the developer’s mindset. We chose purple as the dominant colour. Found in nature but to a lesser degree than the ubiquitous green, it gives the project a fresh, more contemporary feel and evokes the power of nature
to surprise, amaze and constantly renew itself. The great white spaces remind us that nature is also a contemplative space where there is room
to breathe, to move, to live. Materials were chosen with care, tactile
and rich, they speak to the juxtaposition of wilderness and
luxury architecture.
