Kiril lives with his mother and younger brother in the russian town Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai. His father left them when Kiril was still young and their mother tried her best to raise him and his brother since. Kiril is a ninth grader in the public school nr. 67 together with Maxim, whom he knew from their childhood, but they grew apart as Maxim took more interest in the cool kids and became good friends with a guy whose name was known by few, but everybody called him Kaban(meaning bore) because of his solid figure and aggressive reputation(though nobody saw him ever fight). Kaban used to pick on weaker kids like Kiril.
One day Kiril challenged Kaban to a public showdown - the usual way of settling disputes between boys in their city. This was a big deal, because though by definition these meetings should end up with a fight, they usually ended up much worse - by publicly humiliating the losing part through words alone, in front of all classmates. Kiril wanted to show Maxim that he was a man too and maybe get his attention, but had no upper hand in neither of the ending scenarios. So on the day of the showdown, Kaban walked all over Kiril in front of the entire school. Kiril was emotionally crushed and Maxim didn't even greet him anymore on the next day.
But Maxim was an average student, in many cases he was cheating on his exams and homework to keep a good image in front of the teachers and parents so he needed the help of Kiril in the long run.
In the upcoming weeks Kaban is the target of anonymous harassments over Internet and some information about his parents getting divorced is posted on the facebook school page. Kirils knowledge of computers and thirst for vengeance are behind this action of discrediting Kaban. Quickly Kabans reputation drops and he becomes the favourite subject of school mockery and insults. Inspired by the trend, Maxim delivers some secret details about the family situation of Kaban to Kiril and Kiril posts this online without hesitation.
Meanwhile Kaban tries to reach Maxim from his outcast position, but to no success.
As the relationship between Kiril and Maxim seems to be restored, Maxim receives a private message from Kaban, but delays reading it.
The school radio announces that Kaban has committed suicide and investigations will start. All class is terrified. Maxim reads the message from Kaban: "So that’s it. That’s me. Leaving this place for a better one.
