In 2018, when I moved to Rotterdam, I frequently visited the official website and other online platforms of the municipality. During each visit, I felt that the visual identity of Rotterdam is not reflecting the true essence of the city, so I came up with my own version.
The city's architecture is so unique, that for me there was no question that it should be reflected in the visual identity as well. Rotterdam is a modern, industrial, but also warm and friendly place - these characteristics are shown in the clean lines of the typography, the minimal yet playful style of the icons and the brightness of the yellow colour.
