VIRTUAL TOUR OF PRAMBANAN (360)

VIRTUAL TOUR OF PRAMBANAN
Tour the the largest Hindu temple in Java, Prambanan, in 360 degrees. With an engaging timeline of the creation, rise and fall of Prambanan.

The Sanjaya Dynasty and Sailendra Dynasty lived harmoniously in coexistence and cooperation.
Their peaceful coexistence is emphasized through marriage between the two Kingdoms. In the 9th Century, there was a marriage between the a Sanjaya Prince,  Rakai Pikatan, and Sailendra Princess, Pramodhawardhani.
Around half to three-quarters of a century after the start of construction of Borobudur (Chapman, 2013), Pikatan decided to start construction of Prambanan and completed the construction around mid-9th century.

According to Sojomerto inscription and Carita Parahyangan manuscript, Pikatan was a patron of Shivaist Hinduism, as a result, had Shiva as the central figure of Prambanan. (De Casparis, 1956)
Nobody knows exactly how long the construction, why Prambanan was built or even who used Prambanan because there is no inscriptions or written evidence.

How mysterious.
