Rosella Accessories is a limited edition of 14 collars combining two arts into an unique handmade product. A collaborative project between Sabina Chipară – type designer
& Jose Antonio Sánchez – fashion designer.
Sabina and Jose met in Barcelona in 2015 and quickly connected over their passion for design. While talking about their work, an idea of creating a product that would celebrate their friendship crossed their mind one sunny afternoon. Collars decorated with typographic symbols felt like the perfect way to convert type into a fashion item.
And so Jose started designing and sawing the collars in his taller in Barcelona. Each button is sawed by hand, as are the hook and eye that adjust the size. Jose added a secret hook and eye that give the collars their unique shape.
When the 14 collars were ready, they traveled to Amsterdam, where Sabina decorated them with Rosella™ symbols, a typeface she had designed during the internship at Monotype, released in October 2017. Sabina ironed each symbol with transfer black and gold foil.
The result of Jose and Sabina’s handy work are these unique accessories decorated with
5 different symbols, suited for every type or fashion addict.
