Surrealist Painting

This project was about illustrating a surrealist poem.

I chose lines from the poem 'Wink' by Benjamin Péret.

"Rosa of a pool the frogs turn green and I sleep in your navel of Caspian sea Rosa of honeysuckle in the general strike and I’m lost in your milky way shoulders impregnated by comets"

These are some work in progress shots of the piece. I drew the lineart and blocked in preliminary colours as I was still experimenting with the colour palette. I was also playing around with text placement.

I blocked in solid colour and started making the skin more detailed.
