I designed the menus for Sheraton Hyderabad's freshly renovated Pan Asian restaurant, ZEGA. The brief demanded design of four separate menus Lunch, Dinner, Beverage and Dessert.
Zega- The Oriental bistro was imagined as a semi formal dining experience where the client wanted to deviate from the standard menu design practices followed in 5 Star hotels, and wanted to create a young and fresh image for the restaurant.
Usage of images to depict the dishes was adopted to create a greater connect and understanding, as Pan Asian dishes are lesser known among Indians, and clients are often confused while ordering.
Initial design iterations
In order to overcome the inconsistency in the angles, and lighting of the food photographs provided by the hotel, I decided to go for a semi-sketched look. This helped me modify the photographs to an extent, enabling them to appear to have similar graphical language.
Lunch menu was supposed to be an A3 sized double sided card, meant for the informal dining theme during the restaurant's lunch hours

Dinner menu had to have a more formal touch to it, hence the booklet format was adopted. Where only the cover page was illustrated and internal pages contained text.

The menu was very well received by Sheraton, and is currently being used at the restaurant.
