My artwork contains of two digital prints with the size of 100x100 cm. The goal of my previous paintings, on the basis of which I created the prints, was to experiment with different materials. I painted an oil foundation on the original wood fibers of 50x70 size, then added a layer of white paint, which gave them a matte coating.
The repelling force of oil thus created an organic system of spots, and this is what made the pictures appear more dynamic. I then digitalized the paintings with a camera, and enlarged the details to the current 100x100 size using a graphics editing software. I also modified the colour tones.
The images were printed on a 5 mm thick PVC disc. My aim was to visualize the rustic texture in a sterile environment, thus creating a transition between classical painting and graphics. What I intended to achieve by enlarging the image was that those parts of the artwork that the viewer normally does not give importance to, would also play a big role. I emphasized the contrasts as well as the complementary colours.
The title (Burn) was intended to refer to the atmosphere that it creates.
