About the project

The Vitruvius University started out with an extensive remodeling of their
corporate image. This private university in Leipzig needed a competent partner for the job and chose us for the task at hand.
Design process

Every good web design has to be properly prepared! The first step is to set up the correct briefings and include the defined and respective phases; a good information architecture is the prerequisite for a professional basis. Taking usability seriously from the outset will pay dividends.

We found out that over 50% of modern users access websites over their mobile devices. That is why we chose to concentrate on developing the mobile version first. After a successful design phase, we turned to concept a valid source code. Finally, we moved over to the support phase as the last step before concluding our work.
Colors & Font

The target was constructing a new corporate identity for the Vitruvius University. The colors and font were therefore predefined. When we are provided with fixed specifications to work on, we simply make recommendations, if necessary.

In this case, the topic of discussion was the font for the longer texts. Although Klavika is a corporate type-case, the legibility suffers when using smaller screens with a smaller font size. We advised using Fira Sans instead of Klavika, which led to a better usability on all pages.
Project Management

Structuring a website with a total of over seventy pages was enormously challenging. Due to the client’s explicit wish to later embed the content and keeping the budget restrictions in mind, we decided to use CMS Wordpress.

The target groups and most important functions were swiftly clarified. In this case, the following design phase that followed the timeconsuming structure was comparatively short.

Arranging and devising a layout for three to four pages (instead of seventy) and expending the design elements in the support phase played a crucial role and saved us an immense amount of time and kept costs low.

More than 600 hours of work

This project was strictly defined. The Director of Design and Head of the Front-end Development were on standby and ready for the task at hand, which gave our stellar team the support needed to complete their goals in record time.

More than 130 pages

The collaboration with the Vitruvius University also included redesigning the college Designschule. In over 600 hours of working hours together with this sister project, we developed two CMSSystems. You can find the project for the Designschule on our project page.
