Garden dreams

"Garden dreams" is a series of collages based on paintings, graphics and photos of The Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam, Netherlands). I made this project to participate in The Rijksstudio Award 2017. The main condition of participation is to create remix (one or several) of objects from the Rijksmuseum collection.

The huge collection of the flower images inspired me to create this project. I wanted to embody the visual myth of enchanting gardens. In my collages I used effects typical for photography i.e. focus and blurring. These effects strengthen the realism of the images. The main point is that a viewer becomes an active participant of the image by appearing in the enchanting garden amidst beautiful plants and flowers. And starting from here examines what is ongoing inside the work.
