Application concept: Money Exchange
Challenge: To develop a prototype for client, design an easy to user interface, conduct user research to better fit user needs. Client only wanted his employees for user testing.
Testing/ researching methods: User surveys, usability testing
Software used: Balsamiq Mockups, Sketch 2
Results: After a number of prototypes and multiple testing sessions, we were able to provide our client with a generic interface that they were happy with. Despite our efforts to convince them to allow testing on various customers, they did not agree.
Low fidelity
This is a prototype developed for a local money exchange business. The client wanted to develop a one stop platform for customers to view real time exchange rates, book appointments and to check out their other services.
Medium fidelity
These prototypes were developed for a local money exchange business. After conducting a few usability testing with company employees, this was our result. Main changes included:
- Removal of the "done" button in the menu
- Addition of loading icon to the information page (P3)
- Addition of the green and red icons, to identify whether the exchange was worth it.
High fidelity
After conducting usability testing with a set of company employees, this was our result. Main changes included:
- Addition of a real time graph to indicate current exchange rates. Along with rates at the bottom. Users also had the option to "Bid" and "Ask".
- Addition of the "Book An Appointment" section. This was to allow clients to book appointments efficiently via the app rather than calling.
- "Search" section in the menu. Rather than the full drop down menu, I chose to display options in their own sections.
- Added the "done" button once again. Based on device type, user would not have to reach the top left corner to close the menu.
