Being an early riser isn't necessarily a hereditary trait, but at times it does have it's advantages.
Getting up early to brew that first pot of coffee, I find it very easy to get lost in thought.
As an artist, I have to constantly remind myself of what both my grandfather and my father would constantly tell me as teenager growing up, "...the early bird gets the worm."
I drew this as both a reminder and as a tribute to the first cup of coffee that starts off every new day with an explosion of creativity and somber remembrances.
This is a two color silk screen print. The coffee that inspired the drawing, the drawing itself and the printed reproductions were all made locally, ha ha.
