Positive Posters have opened up their submissions for their 2010 poster contest. The theme is "A Glass Half Full." So this is my entry.
An abstracted, half-filled glass is presented. Positive signs align to form negative signs in the negative space.
Bias toward a positive outlook is presented by: having the area of positive space slightly larger than the negative; rendering negative signs recognisable only in landscape format; always showing more positive signs than negative; and, replacing the usually negative black with magenta.
Finally, the “liquid level” is skewed to suggest a tilted glass. It’s up to the viewer to decide if the liquid is being sipped and enjoyed or poured out and wasted.
