The Uuni Casserole and Sizzler are the first piece of the Uuni Cast Iron Series. The Sizzler can be used independently and double as a lid for the casserole. They have been designed to fit inside the Uuni Pro and the casserole has a capacity of 3 litres.

We have been working closely with our manufacturing partner to ensure the product was easy to manufacture with the best quality possible while keeping the weight of the product under control. A good quality cast iron product can offer years if not decades of services if manufactured properly and taken care of, this is why making sure the shape of our product wasn’t going to cause any defects by communicating with our manufacturer was essential.

When most of the cast iron sizzlers on the market use handle ‘clipping’ from the top we designed our sizzler to be safely used in Uuni 2, Uuni 3 and Uuni Pro. This means the handle had to lock in place horizontally to minimize the possibility of the user touching the top of the oven when taking the sizzler in and out.

We produced several variations of the handle and prototyped them to find the best angle and size so the handle is comfortable and easy to use.
