Gli angeli abitano la città dando voce alle strade, alle piazze, ai muri, alle chiese, ai cieli capovolti, questi luoghi non dimenticano la grande tragedia della Berlino rasa al suolo alla fine della seconda guerra mondiale e rimane un muro a separare l’est dall’ovest, una linea invalicabile che testimonia uno stato di pace apparente.
Lo sguardo del regista tedesco è colmo di partecipazione per ogni singolo essere vivente: in contrapposizione alla memoria storica di una Berlino coperta di macerie e cadaveri c’è il mondo sognato dai bambini, gli unici che possono vedere gli angeli, gli unici a guardare ancora verso il cielo.

The angels inhabit the city giving voice to the streets, squares, walls, churches, the skies overturned, these places do not forget the great tragedy of Berlin razed to the ground at the end of the Second World War and remains a wall to separate the east from the west,
an impassable line that testifies to a state of apparent peace. The German director's gaze is full of participation for every single living being: in contrast to the historical memory of a Berlin covered with rubble and corpses there is the world dreamed of by children, the only ones who can see angels, the only ones to watch again towards the sky.
