Also, this is the first hydroelectric power plant in the Balkans based on Tesla’s principles of polyphase alternating current. It was built for the local weaving factory. The initiator of the polyphase alternating current application was a friend of Tesla’s, Djordje M. Stanojević, professor of physics at the Great School (later Belgrade University)."
