The Impression of the Strangers - The Animation

The Impression of the Strangers

“Most of us store in memory the general features of the faces we remember, and when we see someone we know, we identify the person by matching the face we’re looking at to a face in that limited catalog,”

- psychologist Leonard Mlodinow written in his book Subliminal.

The Impression of the Strangers illustrates and examine the thinking process of us remembering people’s faces.

There are many faces we see each day. It is understandable to fail to recgonize some. However, even with familiar faces, we cannot specifically describe one’s facial features because memories does not work like data storage that we can extract and view.

The animation is set in an obscure environment, like our mind-palace. While walking down the memory lane, we find scattered traits which are often too complex and abstract to put in words.
